The easy way to stop smoking by Allen Carr is a fundamental tool in the fight against nicotine however many of the guiding principals around NLP re-programming apply to virtually any addiction. Certainly worth looking at the book and applying the context to your own personal addictions.
What I like most about “The Easy Way” is the sales pitch. It’s very non committal and vague but ultimately it works in achieving the end goal which is to STOP smoking.
In the Allen Carr method..
- They say don’t stop smoking, continue to smoke while you read the book.
- They say by the end of the book you will choose to stop smoking of your own accord.
- They say Allen Carr inadvertently or by design uses clever brain re-programming techniques to trick you into stopping smoking.
- They say you walk away a non-smoker without cravings or pangs or that incessant longing to have a smoke.
For a smoker there is always an interest in how to “get out” of the “habit” without going through withdraws.

Well from personal experience in the Allen Carr system has helped me to stop smoking 4 times. 100% I believe now that the Allen Carr system works.
